WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) is one The Rotary Foundation’s seven areas of focus and a mission critical component of international development work. WASH is fundamental to improving the health, prosperity and well-being of communities across the Pacific and more broadly the world.

Indeed, it was our recognition of the importance of WASH that was the impetus for forming a global eClub nearly 10 years ago in 2016. Chartered in Dunedin, New Zealand, the eClub of WASH is comprised of Rotarians from around the globe busy doing international development work with a focus on WASH.

Over the years, WASH professionals have become aware that for long-term sustainability we should move away from one-off projects and focus more on making systemic changes and building local capacity. Training and education are key to building that capacity and helping South Pacific communities become more resilient in face of rising seawater, increased cyclones and climate change.
